PRIVACY POLICY

At Outstanding Hire, we understand the significance of safeguarding the privacy of the personal information we collect from our customers and prospective clients. Committed to upholding privacy standards, we abide by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) as outlined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (as amended).

This statement elucidates the types of information we collect and our procedures for its use, disclosure, and storage. It also outlines how individuals can contact us and access their personal information. Our privacy policy applies to all interactions with us, whether through personal visits to our branches, communication via telephone, mail, or engagement on our website.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND HOW DO WE OBTAIN IT?

We gather your personal information from various sources, including our hire agreements, credit forms, and details provided during phone calls, branch visits, or website browsing sessions. Additionally, we obtain personal data from credit reporting agencies and through searches, such as those conducted on the PPS Register.

- Your name, street address, email address, telephone, mobile, and fax numbers, along with your company or business name for identification and communication purposes.

- Information regarding your driver's license, passport, or a copy/image of it, to verify your identity, residency, and legal authorization to operate our vehicles. For certain equipment beyond vehicles, we may also need relevant license or operator competency certificate details.

Credit card information provided for payment purposes may be tokenized, with the token remaining the property of Outstanding Hire at all times.

If you apply for a credit account, we may request the aforementioned information, along with:

- Your bank account details.

- Trade references to assess your background.

- For corporate entities, names, and addresses of all directors.

We do not seek to collect sensitive information such as background details or political beliefs.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DATA DO WE COLLECT, HOW DO WE ACQUIRE IT, AND WHAT DO WE UTILISE IT FOR?

Outstanding's equipment, vehicles, and tools (collectively referred to as "Equipment") may incorporate on-board devices known as GPS Devices. These devices facilitate internet connectivity for the Equipment, enabling the transmission and reception of specific information, including geolocation data from a global positioning system, as well as additional data such as speed, battery voltage, and ignition status.

By renting any Equipment from us, you expressly consent to the use of a GPS Device on the Equipment during the rental period by Outstanding. You also agree to our collection, utilization, and retention of information derived from the GPS Device, acknowledging Outstanding's ownership of that data.

Information obtained from the GPS Device may serve various purposes, including:

- Alerting us to the need for maintenance or servicing of the Equipment.

- Providing information to law enforcement or other authorities in instances of theft, failure to return the Equipment at the end of the hire period, or unlawful use.

- Assisting in investigations of accidents or incidents involving the Equipment during the hire period by verifying its location at the time.

- Facilitating the identification of the exact location of the Equipment in case of breakdowns, aiding breakdown responders.
